VPN

Introduction

For our non-residential IP VPN we support 4 different types of VPN:

OpenVPN is generally our recommended method, but some may find the L2TP guide(s) easier to follow.

What is the difference between L2TP, OpenVPN and OpenVPN DPI?
L2TP will use VPN software built-in to the device or operating system, it may not connect from some heavily restricted or public wifi networks.

OpenVPN uses an additional program or App to make the VPN connection to our servers. It will generally connect from heavily restricted/public wifi networks.

OpenVPN DPI is an extension of OpenVPN, specifically when connecting from the most heavily restricted/censored locations such as China, UAE, Saudi, Egypt, etc, that may otherwise block regular OpenVPN.

In a censored country?
If you're in a censored country please use OpenVPN DPI if available for your device.
