Samsung TV 2015+ (Alt Method) - SmartStream

Here you can find SmartStream setup information for your chosen device and also which services you can access whilst using SmartStream.

You can use the Table of Contents on the right hand side of this window to navigate between the different sections.

IMPORTANT: Some recent H series onwards sold outside of the UK seem to be unable to set a UK region on SmartHub, i.e to download UK Apps or use UK Apps. Some have, unfortunately, a hard coded region setting.

Choose a 'Type 2' SmartStream DNS server using the below list, NOT 'Type 1, you will need this later.

Step 13

Step 14
Use the below link to sign in to SmartStream using your VPN username and password, this will activate SmartStream for your current broadband IP address. It is recommended you do this from a computer.

Should your broadband connection IP address change (if your router restarts or your ISP resets your connection) you will need to repeat this step of signing in, to update our systems.

Step 15
Plug the TV back in again and power on

Step 16
First exit the Smart Hub, i.e where all the apps are, if you have this open - just have it on regular TV

Then, press the Menu key on your remote control to bring up the TV settings menu, select Menu from the on-screen menu if required.

Step 18
Next, you need to 'Smart Hub Reset', or 'Reset Smart Hub' on some models. It is SmartHub that needs resetting, NOT the entire TV.

This is required to force the TV to download UK Apps, instead of your local region Apps.

Samsung have a page below, which advises the 'Reset Smart Hub' process for the various TVs:

https://www.samsung.com/au/support/tv-audio-video/reset-smart-hub-samsung-tv/
