Here you can find SmartStream setup information for your chosen device and also which services you can access whilst using SmartStream.

You can use the Table of Contents on the right hand side of this window to navigate between the different sections.

Step 1
Choose the closest SmartStream DNS server to your current location using the below list, you will need this later.

Step 2
Retrieve your VPN username and password, if you are a new member this is contained in the StreamVia Account Information email you received after ordering.

Step 3
On Apple TV, go the Settings → General → Network


Step 4
Select Wi-Fi for wireless network or Ethernet if you have wired connection


Step 5
Go to Configure DNS and set it to Manual


Step 6
In the DNS Address field enter the IP of your chosen SmartStream DNS server you chose in Step 1.

Step 7
Click Done once the DNS server has been entered, be very careful not to make any mistakes

Unplug the Apple TV power cord


Step 9
Wait ten seconds


Step 10
Plug the Apple TV back in


Step 11
Use the below link to sign in to SmartStream using your VPN username and password, this will activate SmartStream for your current broadband IP address. It is recommended you do this from a computer.

Should your broadband connection IP address change (if your router restarts or your ISP resets your connection) you will need to repeat this step of signing in, to update our systems.

Step 1
On Apple TV, go the Settings → General → Network

Select Wi-Fi for wireless network or Ethernet if you have wired connection


Step 3
Go to Configure DNS and set it to Automatic


Step 4
Unplug the Apple TV power cord, wait ten seconds


Step 5
Plug the Apple TV back in

The below steps will show you how to change the Apps that your AppleTV displays, i.e so you can get Hulu and Netflix in regions that do not include these Apps by default

Go the Settings → General → iTunes Store → Location


Step 2
Select United States


Step 3
Go back to the main AppleTV home screen


Step 4
Go to Settings → Sleep Now


Step 5
Unplug the power cable


Step 6
Wait 30 seconds

Plug power cable back in
